Got another Tolkien piece on my back. I think it's gorgeous. My artist shaded heavily around the tree so when it's healed and the black has faded a little, the tree will appear much brighter since the actual color white is a bitch. He recommended the illusion as opposed to the ink color.

I am now officially done tattooing my back. It's finished. Smaug the Golden finishes the three book connection. He is The Hobbit, Beren and Luthien represent The Silmarillion and A Elbereth Gilthoniel is The Lord of the Rings. And at the center of it all, of course, is JRRT. Elven stars are out. I poured through quite a few books. The top piece chosen to even out the height of both shoulders will be.....

So I'm trying to figure out what to add to my back. It'll be a while before I do but I have some options and a lot of time to think about it. First, to even out the level between the right and left side I'll be adding a few Elven stars above the Elvish script.
